Thanks for having me at the match Bob.  I made some pretty rookie mistakes on the 50 shot bench match, but got everything sorted out by the second target of the BP match on the last day Smiley

It was a great experience.

Chris.

Dave, Sue was in FL visiting sisters.  Gary was being a good boy and shooting with us like he was supposed to be doing Wink

UR welcome Chris.  Glad you came an had a good time.

Frank, I have always used the NRA tag board targets for the BP bench match since i started it.  Lots of reasons; we had a lot of them left from the BP program.  They are much easier to spot shots on black than the ASSRA slick paper finish.  Lot better sight picture than red with iron sights.  It is an any sight match, but most are shooting irons.

Bob,
Good answer Smiley

I'm not familiar with that target, is the reason I asked. What's the size of the X and 10 ring so, I can kinda compare it with the 25 ring?

I think the X is 1.9" and the ten is pretty big.  I don't remember exactly.

Frank,   Take a look at  NRA SR-42 target.  Similar to  the American Standard dimensions Wink

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

NRA Pistol adopted the American Standard target and made some minor mods over the years.  50 yard  is a lot closer to the original than SR-42 high power.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

4.8 50 yard slow fire Standard American Target - 8, 9 and 10
rings black. Target No. B-6, B-6(T) is Tag board, B-6(P) is Paper
and 6(C) is Repair Center.
X ring ......................1.695 in
10 ring .....................3.36 in
9 ring .......................5.54 in
8 ring .......................8.00 in
7 ring .....................11.00 in
6 ring .....................14.80 in
5 ring .....................19.68 in

I used to do well in the BP matches until The guys with that new fangled Swiss powder got their loads perfected.  I was trying my 38-55 on Saturday when the winds were their worst.  Then Chris sneaked across the border to show us how it is done up north and kicked our butt.  My only claim to fame is that I was the only one to shoot all matches Smiley
Hope to see you in Tacoma in Sept Chris.

Jack, That used to be one of my claims to fame, shooting all the matches including the 100 shot. When Claude wanted out of running TRR, that was the end of that   Sad  Some or none seemed to be the  options  Cry

I don't plan on measuring possibles to break 3 way  ties.  Might have to go to the  600 yd target reduced to 100 shot at 200  Grin  That should sort 'em out  Wink

I will definitely try and make the fall match.  I'll bring an offhand rifle too so I can be a bit more traditional Smiley.

Those winds were pretty tricky on Saturday.  I've never seen weather change so fast and so many times on a single day.  I'm probably going to bring a .38-55 next time too.

Bob it's funny that you used that link to my website for the NRA document.  I'd forgotten that I'd put it there.  I hope that the NRA doesn't mind.

I did not notice it was bc rifle.  I thought I was on NRA.  I doubt if they mind,
