Will be converting a 25RF Stev 44 to 297/250 rook.

Need a reamer?

Anyone have any options aside from calling Dave Kiff?

Friends, family?? Anyone??

Mike

Contact Steve Durren at Johnsons Sporting Goods. He has a Pacific Tool reamer. 517-265-2545

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I'm curious about your plan, simply because I have a Ballard in .25 Stevens, and also dies, brass, etc. for the .297-250 Rook.
In comparing the .297-250 to the .25 Stevens I don't see the .297-250 reamer cleaning up the chamber, so wondered if your plan is to just hope it's close enough, and allow the jump from case to bore? And then there's the bullet issue. Do you have a mold or supplier for the correct size and weight bullets for the .297-250? With the Morris being a .235" bullet, and the Stevens a .251", what's the bullet plan, and what will you do for dies? Ream out a .297-250 die or?
Hope your plan works, as I'd love to rechamber my Ballard if it does!

The 297/250 bullet is a .251 diameter. 25 ACP bullets work well and they come in 35gr JHP, 50gr FMJ and molds were made by Lyman. If you need to reline, TJ's makes a 297/250 .251 bore liner.

When you cut the chamber for the 297/250, consider running the reamer in far enough to use the 22 Hornet brass rim thickness, not the original case rim thickness. Makes forming cases much easier than thinning tiny case rims.

Hunters Supply sells two versions of cast .251 slugs, the flat nose is reasonably accurate lthough at 50gr. A bit light.
