Half cock fly hammer adjustment

UndecidedI was at a show recently and picked up a late model coil spring Highwall action that has a hammer with a half cock fly.  When the lever is cycled all the way down and up, the hammer returns to the half cock position.  If you cycle the lever 3/4 down, the hammer goes to full cock.  This all seems normal according to Campbell's book.  The question I have is from the half cock position, if the trigger is pulled should the hammer fall ? If not, what adjustments may be needed.

Assuming the lever has gone through a full cycle, the hammer should not fall from half-cock.  Otherwise, what's the point?  If it does fall from half-cock, the half-cock notch in the hammer is damaged and should be repaired.
