John Taylor Octagon M44 Arrives!

Came home late today, and found my M44 had come home in a large box. John has done a fabulous job putting together a new Octagon barrel, new extractor/ejector and done a fine job on the trigger pull.  The barrel is 25.5" long from the front of the receiver,7/8" across and has 3/8" flats. Trigger pull is light, and I can't wait for Saturday for some range time. Well worth the wait and it is sure a fine looking rifle now. Thanks John!

Hi Amanda --
                    Your Stevens M-44 has gotten a whole new look since the "make-over".  Did Mr. Taylor re-do the case colors in addition to the new barrel?  Was the Soule sight mounting already done or did John add the additional width to the mounting screw spacing ?

Good luck and do post a target or two to show us how well it shoots.

Hello Dr. M, 
John replaced the old lined round barrel with the octagon model, cut a few extra extractors and firing pins  for spares, and adjusted the trigger. The rest is as I found it. If he is willing, I'll have him do an octagon barrel for my 44 & 1/2 next.

Nice! JohnT always does excellent work. Is it a .22LR? GM barrel?

I do not know who made the barrel.
