I think that big, fat scope on there looks bogus. I'm thinking of replacing it with a Lyman STS I'm not using

Is that a model 52?  Caliber?  I have one very similar, wonderful rifle.

You will enjoy it.

Hi,
It's a .22LR
Going to Paul's website, I think he just calls it "schuetzen"
Shilen barrel, 1 1/8" across flats.

That's a real beauty! I love the smaller, old style scopes also, but I know the newer large tube scopes probably are a better choice for serious shooting.

Nice rifle ! ... I am a big fan of the "ball and spur" lever.

Sweet! A period scope looks better but it may shoot better with the modern scope. I doubt that my shooting ability would show much difference.

Very nice rifle. Don't know what you paid, but that scope might cover a large part of it based on what I see on the market.

It looks and sounds exactly like the rifle I once owned, if so it's a winner off the bench with the right ammo but a tad heavy for offhand. I sold it to get away from the exspensive ammo race as he with the best wins. I sold it to a fellow in the Bay Area and the ammo to go with it and he took it to a rimfire bench match in Richmond Ca. The fellows kind of found it humerous until he cleaned their clicks with it.

It's a beautiful rifle.  I have one similar in mind, a CPA action is on the way and I have a nice piece of 50 year old Myrtle wood that I'm hoping I can get a #52 stock out of.  I wonder what it weighs with that heavy barrel on it?

Hi guys,
I don't have it yet so I can't comment on the weight.
I believe the scope to be a 2" Unertl Ultra Varmint with the calibrated head.
I'll be selling it for about $800 or so if it checks out ok.
I bought it for a little less than Paul gets for a new one, without a scope.
