CPA rifle wait time ?

I ordered a CPA bench rifle in 32-40 with a bench forearm and a sporter stock , all unfinished wood. I will be doing that myself . What was the typical wait time for the completion of your rifle ?

brudford,

The very best people to ask are the makers, they know exactly how many rifles in front of your order there are to be made, so they will probably be accurate to around about a month. Asking anyone else will just give you false information, basically it all depends on how busy they are, I remember a time when Shiloh Sharps would get a new rifle to you in under a year. Then the Film "Quigley down under" came out and the delivery date shot up to four or five years. Cry There's simply no telling. Undecided

Yup, give or take and well worth the wait. I have a similar bench model on order since January. I just received the barrel from RKS. I spoke to Paul about dropping it off. He said no rush, they'll let me know when there ready for it.

That's not bad at all. 44cal gain-twist...................... Hmmmm.

Bob - what does Ron get for a barrel? Good exchange rate at the moment.

Good timing to ask; I picked up my 32-20 today, ordered it September 5.  Will post pics after I get all of the drool wiped off of it.

Glen,

They are a little more than a standard twist Bartlein or Krieger. Shipping was $70.00 to New york. My 6 groove SS barrel was $405.00 shipped. I have a 8 groove on order in CM for my Mod 52. That was $450.00 shipped.

I may switch my 8 groove to SS as well. CPA offers a durable Teflon coating for stainless barrels that looks like a blued barrel. I like the traditional look.

I know the feeling. My wife was worried when I brought my first CPA home. Seems I was spending a lot of time with it.

I ordered my CPA back in Dec. 2014 . Gail told me about four months if I got an unfinished stock which I did . I have not E-mailed or called them, I figured they have enough to do rather than respond to calls like when will my rifle be done ! I'am able and willing to wait . Maybe around the end of May I will have the rifle and another two weeks until I sand and finish the stock . Thanks

Thanks for the info. Want to build a long-range rifle in 40 or 44cal and am thinking the quality of the barrel starts to become critical when one gets past, say 600yd. Was thinking of one of the new GM lapped & polished barrels, but they will not provide a projected delivery date on their new barrels. Too busy running their big orders, I guess.
