And it's just an early Ballard with the hand operated extractor, IMHO.

This from someone who has 24 posts and another slam from one with all of 57?  Lips Sealed And folks complain about our sport not growing. Besides. Anyone who names themself win1906 obviously has excellent taste in rimfire rifles.

Nothing wrong with the link. Works just fine. Here's the action in the link above.

I can't help on the action, but think that is a timberlake boot. Wink

No offence, mate, but I'm not slamming anyone.   When someone posts "look here" and the virus checker spooks an abundance of caution is in order.

Anyway, apology proffered.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I can't say what it is, but it's not any of the early Ballard actions with external extractor system.
I didn't click on the link, but surprised at a couple responses here to a fairly new guy. Sure not my idea of a welcoming.

I think it looks exactly like a early, external extractor, Winbalh&a or, at least what a merging of those companys would have produced. Smiley

Right.  I should have looked into Layton before I shot my mouth off.

offer still stands.i have had the rifle for 20 years now and have never seen anything close to this design.most people say its a ballard without really looking at it.it had a square block that moved up and down but how i dont know.any guess on how the block was moved with out a lever.with the maple stock i would think its american but i dont know.it was found in northern ny so could be o.m robinson or windsor vt is not too far either.thanks everyone for looking and responding.
