Winchester A5 recticule screw types

Does any body know when Winchester changed the type of recticule screw used in their A5 scopes. My A5 has the binding type that does not use the button head screw and curved washer. Was the washer type screw a fix or a repair for the binding type or did the A5 come that way from Winchester starting what year??
