40-82 smokeless loads

Any one use smokeless in a 40-82 with 350 and 400 gr bullets. A 1885 High Wall I my just finishing.

COTW listed 40 gr 3031 for 40-72. Tried it and got 1623 fps with 400 gr Snover. Recovered the bullet 1 inch in dia and about 1/4 long.

I shot 8grains SR4759 and 50grains FFG duplexed. 300 grain bullet in a highwall. Plenty fast, and clean. Later, moodyholler

In an 86 Winchester 40-82 I have had the best accuracy with light bullets intended for a 41 mag , around 215 to 240 gr with 4227 and no filler . It may have a slower twist than the High Wall
