A cadet for your viewing pleasure.

Thought I would share some gun porn. This is 7-30 Waters Martini and is my walk-around rifle for deer and varmints. I am in the process of developing some cast bullet loads for it with 130-grain bullets. It shoots lights-out with jacketed bullets, especially the 120-grain Nosler ballistic tips. The lever on the right side of the action is a safety, The action is a thick-wall rimfire action that was converted to centerfire. Duane is a friend, and this project started from an ultralight 22-inch long 7mm Magnum half-round/half-octagon barrel with integral rib and sights that he had lying around his shop that a customer had ordered about 20 years earlier and never picked up. Duane considered the barrel too thin for a 7mm Magnum and thus scrap, so he said I could have it. That got me thinking, which is dangerous at the best of times. The question was what action and cartridge would work if the 7mm Magnum chamber section was cut off. The answer came from looking at a 7-30 Waters Martini cadet that Bob Snapp had at the American Custom Gun Guild show, and a rimfire action I had sitting in my gunsafe. - loud-n-boomer (formerly rnnhntr before the crash)

Now that's exactly how a custom cadet should look like - everything's right.  The woodwork is just spectacular, and really fits action and barrel - it's all in balance.
