The DA and SB coded sights should have the same height.
The S code sight (for the WRA 1885) should have the same height as the P code sight (for the Stevens Ideal rifle).
The S code sight should be taller than the SB code sight.
Personally, I suspect your modified SB sight would be more closely matched for use on a Stevens Favorite, but hopefully it will work out for you on your CPA.

20+ years ago when I was totally focussed on Winchester Single Shots, I was able to purchase 2 of those elusive Model 103 sights proper to the 'walls.  Back then they were pushing $300, but the same sights for the other makes of guns were only bringing half that.  I stopped looking at prices about 15 years ago when they hit the $400 range.  The biggest thing I noticed about the 103s I had was the rather limited range of adjustment when using them at 200 yds... they were really more suited to gallery use, IMHO.

I've got a 103 with a base Code DA on My Model 94 Winchester Short Rifle in .32 Special.

Here is a sight application chart I found on line.

Always had a sneaking suspicion that one purpose, at least, for Lyman's multiple "applications" for sights with the same hole spacing was to encourage dealers to stock as many different variations as possible.  For example, I've got a DA mounted on a Mod. '85 (since I can't afford an "S"!) that works just fine at reasonable iron-sight ranges.

Many of the sights were the same dimensionally, before the code was applied.
But since the different mounting screws were packaged along with the sight in the sight box, and sold as a complete package, the sight was coded to the particular rifle application.
The SB sight and the DA sight was the same basic sight, but the mounting screws were different, hence the different code, and the different package.

But the mounting screws weren't different for all the different 2-3/16" Winchester applications; ditto for Stevens.

The front mounting screws used with the 2-3/16" bases for the Winchesters were the same, but the rear mounting screws varied. WRA 1890 and 06 rear sight mounting screws were a smaller size than the centerfire models, and the 1885 had different rear mounting screw lengths from the 1892/1894s. Hence different packaging and different codes.

Spoke without thinking--forgot about Winchester's use of upper tang screw as rear mounting screw for tang sights. Many sights used on Winchesters have had the rear screw hole wallowed out to allow the regular tang screw to be used when Lyman's small-headed screw wasn't available.
