Anyone shoot a Flobert in 22LR?

Am curious if you shoot it and if you do, do you use shorts, CB Caps, or 22LR std velocity to keep the pressure down on such an older arm?

I've the chance to pick one up that looks like this one here, but for $125. Not sure I really need to add it to the collection, as the bore is rough ...

It looks like this one, with nicer wood:

But has this "tip up" action piece:

No proof marks that could be seen, but at the time I did not remove the action from the stock.

Any thoughts?

I do not believe it strong enough for 22lr. And not sure what most are chambered for, I don't think lr. Be careful

If is "about" .22 it may very well be this cartridge: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I have the identical rifle in 9mm RF. Fun little guns. Mine is smooth bore.

Floberts were indoor or "parlor rifles." The ones I've seen were for BB cap or maybe CB cap. I think RWS makes Acorn caps for Flobert. I checked the "Cheaper Than Dirt" website and they list lots of RWS Acorn caps for sale and in stock.

My Flobert was redone by CC Johnson at one time.  Jerry has looked but can't find any shop notes on it but it is clearly marked.  Somebody had CC really work the thing over as I doubt that there is anything "factory" left

Rifle was re-lined to .22 and chambered for the LR.  At one time I shot it quite a bit and never had any trouble with the LRs.  No Vipers or anything high speed, they really aren't all that strong.
