Lauri,

I would gladly pay just about anything for NRA:
Stevens
Model 44 rifle      5/l8/40, 7/ll/40
Model 44˝ rifle      7/l3/30, l/45/35, 5/l8/40, 7/ll/40, 5/24/80

How do I actually order these?

Don't have to stop there:

More: (I made up this list over a dozen years ago, & stopped looking at the end of '39, intending to resume it later, but never did.  One of the best series isn't included--the 4 (I think) pieces by J.V.K. Wagar on each of the major SS makers; I presume they fell between '39 & '42, but would have to double check.  I have complete set of Rifleman from about 1920-1950 or so.

Redsetter, thanks for posting these. I just got through 1935, 1936, and 1937. Ned Roberts Part III Rifles of Yesterday - Target Rifles in the June '35 issue was great. All those photos of beautiful target rifles and his stries of his experiences and the actual target diagrams made it outstanding.

I just remembered why I didn't continue my list beyond 1939--because Wesley Burrell's series of Rifleman indexes began in 1940.  These continued through 1975, & are long out of print; he died years ago.
