I don't have a dog on this,   but if it were mine I would find a good machinest, cut it down an inch n 1/2 or what ever it took, re cut the threads to 80 % min, not what most do..  measuring the thread pitch using the 3 wire method...any lathe operator should kno how to do this to insure proper fit...  the tool bit should have .015 radii to prevent a stress riser...  nuff said..
