Any good loading data from experience with the Stevens 25-21 using a 86gr RNFP?

Been through the reference books - Here's what they had to say:
5.0gr Unique - 1500 fps
6.0gr 2400 - 953 fps
5.5gr Unique - 1525 fps
10.0gr 2400 - 1673
Plus Ned Roberts said to use a card or blotting paper wad over the powder charge

We have a couple in our group, hopefully they will chime in. The selection shown is pretty slim by today's standards. I know one of the fellows is using AA4100 with good sucess and not sure of weight and style of bullet as well as primer. He won't be around until this weekend and I will give him a heads up on your request.

Mike that's why I made the post.  All the loading data I posted is vintage 1930 except for the 5.0gr Unique that is a Barnes loading data

I'm sure a few folks have been playing with the caliber in recent times and all the new powders of today  - may have come upon the Mother Lode

All the cases are preped and trimmed to the 2.088" reamer  that CPA uses.  I plan on using the Remington 7 1/2 BR's.  Next comes the powder  Wink

My intent is to have it shoot with a scope out to 200yds on a calm day -hopefully!

Your welcome John Boy, AC Gould is the other fellow shooting one, he has for years and he has it shooting extremely well. He usually shoots it in thm any center fire any sight bench matches and is competitive. You might try sending him a PM with your request for information, he has more long term working knowledge of the 25-21 Stevens than anyone I know.

I am getting good results with 4100 also. I am using mine in a 25-20SS with a 120gr bullet so my load info will not be the best. I will follow up with a weight later as I only have my powder measure setting right now. I can tell you that I am using Federal 205M primers and that my alloy is 20:1.

Interesting choice of powder Jeff, by chance have tried it in 32 cal. It is a powder a wanted to get to someday but with the shortage I put it on the back burner and pretty much gave up the idea.

JL, here's the member search for AC Gould ...
Sorry - no matches found for AC Gould

Jeff, AA2015 I have and could download the charge from a 105gr bullet to 85gr

Loading data for this caliber is scant.  The most data that I posted  is for a 86gr bullet in Sharpe's book

JohnBoy go to page two on the members list and he is about 11 from the bottom. You should be able to simply click on his name to send him a PM or probably better yet a personnel e-mail it shows both options. I have never had any luck finding anything with the search feature.
