There once was a company called Idaho's Cutting Edge that made screws and possibly other parts for old rifles. I bought several pairs of the hammer and lever pin assembly for model 44 Stevens from them. I don't know if they are still around. If no one else knows I'll try to find contact information for them.

Would you please try to locate them, or their successor,  and post the information?

Best Regards,

I have several rifles with less than pristine bores that shoot with acceptable accuracy. The Favorite is a boys rifle for plinking and hunting, not a target rifle. It may be "good enough". Shoot it with some different brands of ammo to see just what you have in terms of accuracy.

I was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy of a '94 Favorite I bought from this site several weeks ago:  though the bore is heavily pitted, & groups on paper were pretty discouraging, I can hit a 6" steel plate at 100 yds at least 3 times out of 5.  That's from a sitting position, which (I discovered) produced better results than bench-resting it, because I can hold the tiny thing more firmly.

And I've got a .32 WS high-wall with a bore even rougher than this Favorite's that's still capable of producing 2 MOA results with 8mm jacketed bullets.

This is the company. They are a machine shop that does a lot of work on farm machinery. I believe they make the screws during the off season (winter). Call for a price list.

I called The Number shown and was told they have split the shop and the correct number for the shop making the Serews is 208-397-3008.

I did call and found they have the Hammer and Trigger screws for the 1894 series made out of Alloy 1144 "Stressproof" steel in an as supplied condition.  They did say that strength and wear resistance may be improved by heat treating the alloy.
Prices quoted are $3.50 each for either screw.
They are not making the Breech Block (BB) or Lever Screws as the Thread is something Stevens picked and they are not able to duplicate it at the moment.
They also make Hammer, Trigger, and BB screws for the 1915 model (They say the BB Screw is really a Pin with a small screw used to hold it) and that one is out of 4140 Steel.

I have ordered the 1894 Screws they carry that I need, Thank you for the referral.
Best Regards,
Chev. William

Added 2013OCT25: I purchased a 1915 action and it has a BB screw that is threaded into the receiver, not the 'pin and retaining screw' design so there may be more than one variation.
