Thanks John,

Close but not exactly the same topic. I just finished switching 3 sets of CPA Barrel fixing and the lock screw on the lever pivot pin to Allen head.  They have been making the rifles long time now, CPA have migrated to Allen's. Allen lets you use a torque wrench on the barrel fixing screw.  50 inch pounds.  Set trigger adjustment is Allen on new actions have not switched the older set screws.

When replacing roll pins best if you have the right punch. If switching to solid pin it will need hand fitting.

Correct, the "roll pin punch" is not a flat contact surface drift pin, but rather it has a small domed projection of the correct diameter which fits inside the hollow roll pin, plus a flat surface that makes contact with the roll pin circular wall.

I have a complete set of approx. 1/2 dozen or so such punches which were provided by Brownell's

Exactly if you work on Remington 700's you need a set of roll pin punches. Perhaps others too. Remington's for sure.

The Ruger No. 1 has roll pins throughout the trigger and tang safety assemble and linkage.  I bought my roll pin punches when I decided to replace the O.E.M. trigger with an after-market trigger.  What an improvement it made over the factory style trigger.

Not to get to far off of the subject matter but "Niedner or Mann-Niedner" firing pin seems to encompass any firing pin conversion to a bushed pin.

Is anyone making a true Mann-Niedner firing pin for say the high-wall?

Are you talking about the trigger? I don't recall a single roll-pin anywhere else and just built an F-Class rifle on an M700SA that is easily the most accurate rifle I've ever shot. With the light forces within an M700 trigger, am sure a roll-pin is fine. Not like our single-shots.

Ejector, it's the actions weak point.

You hear a lot about the Extractor which in my experience works fine. I don't plan to shoot mine upside down & don't need "controlled feed"

High round  count the Ejectors clog up and have to be removed to clean properly. Easy job with the right roll pin punch and new pins.

I had this same exact issue with one of my CPA rifles a couple years ago. There was an issue with the holes not being quite in line and the roll pin was bent during assembly. I made up a set of pins from brass rod to check alignment and it was clear the holes were not in alignment. Gail and Paul ended up making a new encapsulating bushing for me.

I looked at all 5 CPA breechblocks the other day. One has a roll pin. None showed any evidence of the firing pin dragging so the roll is working fine.

Will add a proper size roll pin punch to my range tool kit. Break a firing pin on the roll pinned block may need it
