I finished rebuilding this 1880s rolling block. I had bought it online as a military musket, but it turned out to be cobbled together from parts and was nonfunctional. I spent about four months rebuilding it as a sporter, using all the original parts, wood, except a new barrel. It is my first 'build'.

What an experience. There were several times, I was sure this would be another failed project, like the VW Squareback, and the Time Machine, but this one I finished. Three or four months, I think and definitely more than $1300 total, including parts, supplies, etc. Not a bargain, but its done, and I love it. I'll let the blueing cure for a week, then fire it next weekend to find the sweetest load, then in two weeks its off to the club for a match!
