With the help of Boats and Cat_Whisperer I am getting close to being able to shoot my original Hepburn.  Cat_Whisperer had .405 brass and Boats has been a continuous source of personal assistance.  Lucky for me he lives close.  Reloading equipment is purchased.  Shells are formed and fit the chamber.  And now I am ready to insert primers and that is the latest obstacle.  The Lee primer kit does not have a case holder that fits .405 cases.  So the current question is "What size primer case from what maker fits .405 brass?"  I say ""current" because I know that there will be more questions.

The 30-40 Krag is 0.002" larger than the 405 Win, so the shell holder should work. If so, boats may have one for his 25 Krag (same case).

Strider to use the Lee Auto Prime tool you need Lee shell holders.  They don't list one specifically for the 405 but think the 30/40 Krag # 5 will fit. You can prime in that lee press using the primer fixture. If you have a press shell holder that fits.

My Lyman trimmer pilot order for 40/65 took 5 weeks. So long I turned a 44 Special pilot down to fit instead of waiting. Lee factory sales is delivering in 3 days. Best stick with them.
