Hopkins & Allen collectors?

Here are some photos of a 722 that I have had for awhile.  I got it out to wipe it down and realized that I have no photos of it, so since it was a fair day outside I stepped out to snap a few of it.  I thought I would share it with you since it is a really nice example of a boys' rifle.  I don't collect H&P.  I consider myself a Stevens guy, but I could not pass this one up at a local gunstore awhile back.  I hope you enjoy this one as I think it's as nice as they come!

Nice !!!  Glad to see it's being well taken care of...

Where do you live with so much good weather ???
I'm beginning to think the Myan's got it right !!!
I see the pin for the Firing pin but the lock up gap make's me think it may be "fixed" ???
Let's see your Steven's stuff !!!    Kiss

I really fretted over this one before I bought it because it was just too good, but I believe it is untouched.  I even had someone knowledgeable of these go with me to look it over before I bought it.  As best as we can tell, It's just a real honest old timer.

Other than a couple of "sure shots"  my Stevens collection is rather mundane.  I have some nice examples of boys' rifles, but nothing like what some of these guys have in the line of Stevens.

Hey Guy !!!

I feel the need to clearfy my use of the word "fixed" !!!  The term is to describe the function of the firing pin within the rolling block as non-moving and striking as a single unit from the impact of the hammer...
As far as the rest of your collection, I for one would not turn my nose up at any SS piece of history.. We all know that most of these prized collectible's need some help in restoring them (or not)....

Fire away !!!   Cheesy

I see what you mean about almost being too nice. Hard to belive it survived that long and still looks that good but it does sometimes happen. Your Sure Shots are hard to find as you already know. Picked up a 404 awhile back and still have not taken the time to play with it much. Had to order and replace the firing pin and fired it for function. Ejector is not working and it extracts but is a little stiff. Need to sort it out.

Show them off--I'm a boy's rifle fan. Comes from my father keeping me "safe" and limiting my options. I have no idea why he allowed a series of Martini Cadets. I think he found them curious.

I'm extremely jealous of that rifle.  Here's my 922, not quite as good, but again very very good for an H&A boys rifle:

Bought this little Hopkins & Allen at my local Pawn shop a few days ago. Paid a paltry $90 for it. I am going to reline the barrel on this one as the rifling in it is almost nonexistent.

Is that an 822?  Looks to be in decent shape for a shooter.

Mine is actually a 922. I relined the barrel and she shoots pretty darn good now. Just have to get a sight combo that works now.
