Stevens 44 barrel markings

Here are some markings on the underside of a Stevens 44 ; there are no caliber markings on the exposed flats of the barrel.
Any ideas what these may mean ???
The barrel measures out to be a 28-30 ; but I don't have the opportunity to cast the chamber.

A rebored 25-20SS perhaps? (or a worn 25-20)

Probably a rebored 25-20. The 110 stands for the model number. Very early higher grade Model 44's were numbered 108,109, &110 depending on grade Smiley.

I have never seen a 44 that was not stamped with the caliber on the top left flat of the barrel. But then I have definately never seen it all yet. I am thinking re bored also.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the input.
As far as I can tell, the only visible markings on the barrel are the typical Stevens A&T patent dates of 1894.
Unfortunately, I do not own this rifle nor is it within personal reach. If it was, I'd do a chamber cast to be certain what the current chambering is.

Sorry for being dense, but does the 25-20 stamping refer to what it was before re-boring, or what it was re-bored to ???
If it was re-bored to 25-20 at some point, and the bore measures at approx .285", then it must have been re-bored yet again  Huh

A thought comes to mind........ did Stevens sell barrels finished on the outside to gunsmiths and other manufactors?

They did a lot of custom stuff, could that be one of them?

My Stevens 44 has the following markings on the front of the receiver under the forearm:

What does the "0" indicate?

There is also a number 2 stamped on the barrel under the forearm with no other markings except the serial number. What does the 2 designate?

Dave,
The #2 is the barrel weight.

The 0 some/most believe it means that the rifle came with no options.
