1871 Mauser military 11mm Markings

I have an 1871 Mauser  11 mm single shot.  Marking for the Armory or maker is: ESTRR WAFFB GES.  Can anyone identify the maker or Armory?   I believe the last two words were Waffen Fabrick  Geschelshaft   What is ESTRR ?  Was this a usual maker?  Any information  appreciated.

Can anyone add to the history?  Was the Austrian weapons factory a contractor to the German government, or were they making these rifles for the Austrian  military?  Did they make many?    Thanks for any  information.

The rifle is a military bolt action. This is not our main topic here in this single shot rifle forum.

You can look up at wikipedia:  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Maybe its manufactured at "Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft".
Only available in German: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

@ Water bug.

Are you sure the stamping isn’t “ÖSTERR” or “ÖSTRR” and not ESTRR??  As in “ ÖSTERR WAFFB GES” ??

That should be the correct arsenal for 1871’s built at Steyr or "Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft" as it was known back then.

Ich kann auch Deutsch.

Agreed... “ÖSTERR” or “ÖSTRR”   I have a OWG 1871.  An excellent rifle
