Bought a High Wall Special Sporting Rifle...

Went to the gun show in town this morning.

Gentleman brought a HW in.  It had a straight grip stock, single trigger, and a Schuetzen butt plate.  Yes, another 32-40.  Replacement sights, Pope rear, and MVA front hooded globe.

Price was reasonable, bore was good;  so I bought it.  I was sitting at a friend's table, and his neighbor looked at it.  Offered me $500 more than I paid for it.  Now I am really happy.

Are you sorry you sold it now?  Sometimes it tough to hang onto something right after you fine a good deal.

NO!  I did not sell it.  It is laying on the carpet here in my computer room with the rest of my Schuetzen and other single shot rifles.  I am waiting on delivery of a good safe I bought to keep them in.

As far as pictures, I have tried a couple times and failed.  My nephew came over, and could not post them either.  Somebody here want to Email me and I will forward them.

I do not see myself selling any single shot rifles.  Let my estate handle that...

Rich,

To post photos you first need to make sure that they are not too large.  I resize mine (on a Mac using Preview) to around 8" in the longest dimension and set the resolution to 144 or 72 dpi.  This makes them small enough.  Then click the Browse button and find the photo.  Chick the Down arrowhead next to attachments to add more lines.  NO NOT PREVIEW the message.  Just post and adjust later if necessary.  I have found that if I need to resize a photo after posting it (might take up too much room) that it is better to rename the photo on your PC and replace the older one which is an option when you choose EDIT for the post.

It's getting worse.  I just bought an Axel Petersen/Schoyen 32-40 built on a Ballard Pacific action from Gary Quinlan this morning.
I have been talking Schuetzen rifles with the esteemed Tom Rowe for most of a year.  He saw the rifle and called me.  The quote; "Rich, if I did not already have two of these; I would have bought it...".  Call Gary NOW!!!.  When Tom says buy it, I buy it!

I am working to try and post pictures.  I followed the post here, but still flunked the test.

I use Shrinkpictures dot com.  As long as you do one at a time, it’s free. Just follow the instructions.  Get them down to 600 megapixels (or whatever they’re called) and use the “Best” button.  Move the download to your computer screen.

The trick with posting pictures here is: Get your writing into finished form without using the Preview function.  Then upload your shrunk picture and post the whole entry, again without previewing.  If you preview, the picture vanishes on posting.

I have a “Gallery” Highwall in .22 Short with straight grip, no cheekpiece, small Swiss buttplate and CCDST.  Somebody cut away a portion of the right Wall to ease loading.  I don’t think it was a catalog offering; I wondered about the individual who would want a straight grip and small finger lever for target shooting.

I use paint to size pictures. So simple and so fast and right in your PC.

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements to resize photos, but it will set you back a few dollars.
