Welcome aboard great bunch of fellows hang out here willing to help best they can. I hope they all over look your bolt action as this is typically a single shot site and we have an expert in Germany who is a regular here and she is a wealth of information on her country's firearms.

Hello weekend_explorer.

Here some information to that pistol:

• Since 1905, this bolt-action pistol was produced by several gun factories.
• For a period over 40 years, this pistol was fabricated in some variations.
• They produced it e.g. with single-set-trigger and with double-set-trigger.
• Your pistol has a single set trigger, the cheaper version.
• Its a JGA-Anschütz manufactured pistol from Zella-Mehlis.
• Its also called "Mauserlein"; because it looks a bit like a small Mauser-rifle.
• Probably from the late 1930s, because of the high serial-number.

These pistols are not very accurate, one cannot compare them with the higher quality target pistols from the same age. In 1930, it cost only 10% of the price of a target pistol for sport shooting competition.

Nowadays we call it snidely "Gramp's hiking stick". Sorry, but this pistol has not any high value. In Germany we pay 150 bucks for such a pistol - we cannot use it in our traditional pistol matches.
