This is my Stalker 38/55 from the new Providence Tool Co in Plymouth, Wi. Saw the owner at a gunshow and got talking to him. Very happy with the result !

Frank is a good fellow to deal with, check out the web sight and all of the calibers they come in as well as the restoration services he offers , along with the model 21 sight he makes

I can vouch for what Sportslube says.  If you have a Winchester that has the hole drilled for the Lyman 21 or 38 side lever peep sight but the sight is gone, Frank can supply you with one very reasonable.  I bought several from him for Model 95 Winchesters and a Marlin 1895.  Even if you want to install one new, he supplies you with the tap.  Top notch quality!

Any of you guys using that Model 21 sight let me know. Need something better for my Marlin 36A. Old Lyman 66 has a lot of slop..

Using it for NRA CLA matches adjusting for 4 distances in the match precise is critical. Think that 21 is the sight for the job ?

It's a nice hunting sight, don't think it can be adjusted precisely enough for match work.  If you want to try one, pm me, I have one that I would consider parting with.  IIRC, it's for the Win. 94/Marlin 336 size rifles.

Boats,

I haven't laid hands on the reproductions of the 21 and 38 sights, but with the original Lyman 21 and 38, you could easily adjust and set elevation using a caliper. With the 21 style, the windage was a dovetail drift setup where you tap the peep about like drifting a rear barrel dovetail sight, but the 38 peep windage was screw adjustable.

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

I ordered the rifle in December and picked it up in February. Rifle was built to order. Since I live close by I was able to pick the wood stock from blanks ay hand.
The model 21 sight might not be the best choice for matches. Since I shoot only at 200 yards it's not a problem for me.

I've been away for awhile, so am not up to date.
The web site of (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) Peabody Rifles, had been listed for them.  I tried to go there this evening and it seems the web site's no longer in service/use.  Their FaceBook page is down also. A phone call just gets a 'leave message'.  This doesn't look good.

If someone knows the situation (I'm not able to locate anything via the search in the Forum here), would you please share what may be going on.

thank you

This Post should probably be in another topic, but it's where I found it to begin with...

An earlier Post should explain matters:

The owner of Providence Tool Co has recently had surgery and will be unable to answer phone calls for a few days. In addition he is in the process of changing websites and the new one is not up yet. He is still in business, just a little difficult to contact the next few days.

The most important matter is that Frank is feeling and doing better health wise. Wishing him a speedy recovery that he may get back to doing what he likes so much.
best of regards to you Frank,
