25-25 stevens case

Can A 25-25 be made from a blown out 25-20 WCF?
Or close enough to be considered A traditional cartridge?
After reading the 25 cal article in ASSRA Magazine it would seem the 25 Hornet could really be considered a Traditional Cartridge. But I would like A cartridge that can be black powder loaded also.
Now heres one to ponder, the 32 H+R Mag case if made alittle longer ( Starline are you listening) would maybe qualify for the 25-20 SS ? I dont have my cases in front of me to compare but its about the closest case to work?  Thanks, Pete

The 25/25 Stevens cannot be made from a blown-out 25/20wcf, nor could a longer 32 H&R Mag [327 Federal] be used for the 25/20 SS, regardless of the length of these cases the big difference is in the head diameter, but if the head Dia. is fairly close and the case is long enough nothing is impossible with a lot of squeezing & swaging.   ledball

Pete,
the 25/25 is about 2 3/8 inches long and I know of nothing in that case length that could be reformed. they can be machined out of 3/8 brass though.

Hi
my 2cents and that is what it is worth,
is that the 25/25
may not be the best for black powder,, fouling problems are to be had, the 25/21 I believe was brought out for that reason, not that it would not work but the shorter case would be better, but I had bad fouling in my 25/21  with several attempts  at using black in mine and gave up and used 4227
have a nice day Ray
