Impossible!
Everyone knows that mold makers can't turn out work in less than 4 months...If Harry Pope wouldn't quote a lead time, it's impossible... yup.. can't be done... " OR
"
He'll get it back in a week. Seen it done!!"
Guess who was right (
I know PaulF was joking--though it was sadly "black humor for sure)Well today is the 19th. I actually first contacted him on the 6th of THIS month in THIS year It took a few days of emails to discuss the design and send it to him. I entered the order on his website on the 9th. I actually mailed my PO MO on the 14th. And the mold arrived this noon in the mail. The PO label says it was shipped from SaltLake City on the 15th.
I'll probably be making bullets tonight the mold looks beautiful fit and finish is impeccable. I have absolutely no doubt the bullets will be just as good. then it'll be up to me to make it work.
We are talking well under two weeks from initial contact until delivery of the finished produce. this includes design discussions, copy and entry of the design into his catalogue, actual production and delivery via post office. I am absolutely stunned, dazed and gob-smacked. Pleased too.
and I have been given to understand that this is more the norm than not with orders from them.
If you need 30+ cal bullets and can live with flat meplats, You can add'em to your list of potential mold sources.
I have two somewhat similar molds on order for this rifle, one from Mos---and you all know that story. The other is from another well regarded mold maker for the CBA crowd, and he says he
might get to my order this winter--maybe late fall but he's pretty sure he'll get it made before Spring
