Pardon an old man's pride, but I just couldn't help but share a precious moment of my life with you guys. These are two of my grand children. They are cousins - two months apart. This is my son's son and my daughter's daughter. They turned six in March and May. As you can see, they received Crickets for their birthdays. The boy has been shooting his for two months now, but this is only the second time the girl has shot hers. These targets were shot off-hand at thirty feet. I must admit that they have done some plinking with other guns before, so they are not real greenhorns. They also got a lot of safety, and dry firing practice. They are so competitive the the granddaughter burst into tears when I mentioned that the boy shot a "little" better group. I quickly pointed out that her first three shots were in the bull. You can't imagine what joy these little ones have brought grandma and me. I'm pleased to say we have two more coming along. The ammo bill is going to be sky high!! (I hope) It's nice that they live close by, so that we see them quite a bit - like everyday! Thanks for looking.

powderhead,
That "old man's pride" and joy is well deserved!!
My congratulations to you and your two young sharpshooters, and I trust you will have the same continued success with the two that are coming along.
Regards,
BP

Congratulations Gramps. Perfect timing to develop those shooting skills.
Waited too long for my boys. They got interested in girls and high powered bolt actions instead.
So I am going to start my grandkids quick on single shots. The oldest is four now and mom has agreed with a six year old start.
Joe have you started carving a new stock for your new one coming?
I know your wood is probably dry enough now.

No, I'll sell him a chunk though.

It's a her. Most likely a hard core tomboy who loves to go to matches with gramps.

Say hello to Lucia Yvonne Virgil. She's new! Look at that nose and ears! Perfect for holding shooting glasses.

Joe,
There's many a tomboy girl that can give the boys a run for their money, on and off the shooting range. Be sure to teach her as much as you can while you can, time gets short fast.
Congratulations Ol' Grand-dad!!

Thanks guys! I might be getting ahead of the game a little, but like someone said, the years roll by fast. Her mom used to shoot with me in the matches at Tacoma. I think she'll like Ray Bans. Biggi fixed her up with a pair for me. Looks perty good!
Thanks for starting this thread Powderhead, worked out perfect.
Joe.

Congratulations, Grandpa. Your hat won't fit but that is proper and deserved. May she do you proud. Maybe you can post pictures like Powderhead's a little later.
