Hey  do any of you have any info on a slug gun maker named JHONSON    I have a 41 Lb  44cal slug gun that he made and would love to know more about him . Also does anyone know where I could have a mechanical bullet starter made or info on making one ?  your help would be greatly appreciated

No . There isn't any . The barrel just has Jhonson 1955 on it.  It has a massive schuetzen stock with basket weave checkering .  I,ll post a picture if I can remember how to .  thanks for responding.

You might be able to get some help for a starter on the Underhammer Society website. There is a machinist in Oregon by the name of John Taylor that builds underhammers. Johnson was a very famous builder of underhammer slug guns. They were usually shot with a 2 part bullet. Hard nose with a soft tail. You have a treasure. There was an article in a very old Rifleman about one in .69 cal. The owner used 25 lbs. of lead for every 100 lbs. of BP.

That thread is about  (chunk guns ) not slug guns.
