Steve Brooks Moulds

Hello, everyone.  I just recieved my first Brooks mould in the mail today..and it's a beauty!  It is a .40 Creedmoor style, that I specified to weigh 330grs.  I wanted a grease-groove that duplicated the weight of the original P.P. bullet.  I told Steve my bore was .408..The sample bullets  that came with mould mike right on .409" dia.  And for the first time ever, even from other custom mould-makers products...a bullet placed on my electric scale comes in at exactly 330grs.  Very nice people to work with..This will definatly not be my only Brooks mould! Grin

I have one of Steve's moulds made prior to this feature and I agree with you whole heatedly in-regards to the quality.

Hello, J Louis.  Yes, I sprung for the vented one.  I am probably a few weeks away from doing any casting...un-heated garage with door all way up is a little tough in MI right now!  Thanks again.

I've got three of his molds. all beauties.
One thing, he recommends casting at 775 deg. I had to do that with my rowell ladle. but now that I am using an RCBS ladle, I found out if I run the pot at 725 the bullets drop out better, plus you can cast faster.
