I would like some input on a good front sight system for my 40-65 trapdoor. I have been looking at the spirit level sights,  Pedersoli, Shaver, etc.  Anyone have any suggestions?

HI Triggersmith. What is the overall treatmeent of your TD. Will retain military look or have you gone the custom route. That in hand, we may get an idea of what will fit. Welcome aboard.

Hello Dick,
I am building sort of a custom fullstock with sort of a Hawken profile.  Nickel silver furnature and tigertail maple stock.

Sounds right to me, but I'm kinda prejudist toward G/H rifles. Roll Eyes But you know that. More later.

Trigger,
What kind of rear sight are you planning? Tang or on the barrel?  They sort of have to work together.

I plan on using a tang sight.  If I use a barrel sight I have trouble with it blurring out on me.  I guess it is because on a commercial rifle the sight isn't placed correctly for my eyes.  I like a tang sight for these old eyes better anyway.
thanks for the reply

The 1st place I'd go to check out several options is Buffalo Arms.  Another source is Advance Manufacturing Tech. (makes the sights used on the Browning and Winchester BPCRs).  As 40-Rod suggested, Distant Thunder is a good reasonably priced sight.

Thank you sir for your information. The one thing I learned a long time ago playing golf.  If you can't play good, you got to look good.  Same goes for my rifle.
