Mini-Palma Match?

Print Post
Hello, I found a site that lets you print free targets..Found a set of Mini-Palma for shooting with a .22L.R. at 100yds.  I think earlier small-bore Palma was to be shot at 200yd.  Can anyone tell me why the NRA dropped this match for small-bore?  The high-power Palma is still being shot.  This is a very historical match..going back to the long-range international matches at Creedmoor in the 1870's.
This seems to me a very fun and challenging match..Iron sights only..slings permittted..but since NRA isn't in picture anymore..this could be decided on..could even vote for or against optics.  I think this would make a great postal type match..as most of us have access to a 100yd. range.  How about it guys?  Can we get this off the ground?
It was designed for prone...But WE could include those fancy back positions of Creedmoor days..What a hoot! Grin

I like the idea I would like to see different ranges 50 75 100 yards or 100 150 200 yards or even 100 200 300 yards. That way it gets a lot harder as the target moves away which is what the Palma or Creedmoor matches about. I will have to get to work some day on a back position .22.
Where are the online targets?
Cheers,
Laurie

Now you've got my cerebral gears grinding!  The Brushy Mountain Club of Central VA, hosts to the Chinquapin Schuetzenverein, has a 300 yard range with berms at 100, 200 and 300 yards.  The range is on a slight incline so all three can be shot from the same positions on the firing line.  I wonder how many "Chinquapinners" would be interested in this as a sort of side match, maybe at our proposed October shoot?  Huh

Our local county range (Atlantic County, NJ) shoots a 100yd mini-Palma match monthly, March - October. Prone, slings and iron or optical sights. Great fun.

Tim,
I put it my calendar. Hope to make it this year. Will only have the .30 cal Howitzer but should be fun.
