Nice!  I wish I had a couple hundred 22 BP loaded rounds loaded at one time. Seems that I can't keep many more than 100 loaded before I start shooting them.....

As an update.... I was with John Boy in Ridgway last month at our Lever Action Jubilee. As part of the program we shot the smallbore and pistol ctg portion of the NRA Cowboy silhouette course of fire.

Longer story short, I fired 2 fifty round boxes of bp 22's with no cleaning nor blowtubing and the bullets were still going pretty much on call.

After I returned home, I put the 39A marlin rifle in the safe untouched, planning to clean it within the next day or so. The next day I though that it would be interesting to try a group off the bench just to see how the accuracy was holding up after the 100 rounds were fired. I had several more cartridges but the weather wasn't cooperating....rainy, windy. So the following day, I remounted the 8X weaver scope and went to my club's 50' indoor range for the test.

I was somewhat amazed that the rifle was still grouping very well......

Thought I would up date this thread with a group fired at 200 yards with .22 B.P. ammunition a couple of years ago.  The wind was blowing from in from 9:00 at about 10-15 m.p.h. which explains the bit of horizontal dispersion.

Fun, fun, fun!  Smiley

Bottom right - WRA CO Long - same (1871-1900?)
I have never seen a LR box in that type of label but they probably exsist.

John,  I don't have many boxes (none still containing cartridges), but by happenstance, I have this one.

@ w44wcf - where do you get your Swiss powder?  I need about half a pound of Null B for a trial, but not happy about paying the minimums and/or the HazMat.   Used to visit Maine Powder House on visits up there, but don't make that trip anymore.   I'm in S.E. Ohio, FWIW.

Phil, w44wcf got his Swiss Null B powder from me.  So, you have 2 options to obtain some for your experiment:
1.  Living in SE Ohio - contact Premium Powder to determine if they have Null B in stock or have them order some than take a drive to the closest Swiss Dealer to you -

2. I'll square you away with some Null B if you come to w44wcf (John Kort's) lever action Jubilee Match at Ridgway Rifle Club (Ridgway, PA) that is on Oct 8th & 9th.  The 8th we shoot 200-500m rifle caliber (40 rounds) and on the 9th 40 rounds pistol caliber at the lower range.  Come early - practice with as many rifles you desire to bring - the Club House has full accommodations and a cot & sleeping bag is what we do.  If you want to stay at a motel  - the Royal Inn is 4 miles from the range

Hi John,
I did get some Swiss from you (Thank you!), but the Null B I got was from a visit to the Back Creek Gunshop in 2011 on a trip back from the south.

I bought 2# along with some other powders. After testing and getting good results I loaded up more cartridges for the 2012 Lever Action Jubilee in Ridgway.

While there, we did a little side by side test at the 50' indoor range. You shot your screened 4F powder and, as I recall after about 5 shots the group started to really open up. I shot 10 rounds with Swiss Null B and they landed in a nice snug group.  Smiley

We then determined that Swiss is the best powder to use in the .22LR for lasting accuracy shot after shot.

The big advantage of Semi-Smokeless (1897) or Lesmok (1909) was that you could shoot 50 or 100 shots without the groups opening up and without cleaning.
