I just received my first of the Jamison cases. They sure are pretty. Boy I need to know, should I anneal them before using? I've never done that before. I sure hate the thoughts of torching them.

Thanks Kcajeel

Hi kcajeel, can't speak for the Jamison 25-20SS Brass but the 38-55W Jamison brass is fine just as I received it, the hundred cases have been loaded four or five times and no problems, it is not the "B" stuff!  Wink

Thanks Mike, There has been so much talk lately about annealing cases that I'm thinking I'm missing something important.
I'll just not anneal them then. Those Bertram cases I got from you haven't been annealed and they're  doing fine.

Thanks, Kcajeel

Late to the party - I've been away with the grandkids for Xmas.

I have bought, measured, sectioned, then necked down and fireformed the Jamison .25-20SS brass for my 2R Lovells, and found it to be in an excellent state of anneal as supplied.  Don't bother doing anything more to it.

Be aware that it is much heavier brass than the old stuff - reduce charges accordingly.  Admittedly most .25-20SS shooters aren't velocity maniacs, but I'm also remembering that many if not most .25-20SS rifles are on weak actions like the Stevens Model 44.

Thanks USCRA112 I haven't been around to read your reply. But I'm happy with it.

I can report that the neck uniformity is much better that the G&H cases if any one plans to shoot fixed ammo.

Jamison has 25-20ss cases on sale, marked-down somewhat.
