So I have this rolling rock barrel that is a tomato stake. Found this product on line looking for something else. I have the barrel soaking as I type this. Guess we will see tomorrow how it works.

I bought a gallon of Evapo Rust at the Tulsa Wanemacher Gun Show 10 years ago or so.  It did what it was advertised to do.  I misplaced my jug of it when I moved to Galveston island.  I need to get some more.  I did like the stuff.

Well I had computer problems but back now.

Soaked the barrel over night in this stuff. Next day poured out the now black liquid and started cleaning. A bunch of patches and brushing and I have a barrel that looks like it will shoot! Really surprised at what this did. I had tried regular cleaning procedures before on this barrel. Nothing extreme like spinning a wire brush with a drill motor. The barrel really went from not worth messing with to buying brass and trying it out.

I know most times a barrel will have too deep of pitting after using a rust remover to be any good. But this one time, just maybe it was worth messing with.

Now to find some 43 Egyptian and give her a try.

I've found midway and other places cheaper. Still hate to pay $3 a piece or more. Will probably jump on the auction now on gunbroker.

Would NDFS 43 Egyptian brass be drawn or turned? Would anyone recommend This brass?

What he said, I'm just a satisfied user, and green forg, for the dandruff try head and shoulders, watch your Uric acid to fix the gout, and they make a little blue pill for your other problem.

Missed this string and posted something on EvapoRust over on the General Discussion section.  Having tried the stuff and seeing that it seems to work as advertised, I was looking for other people's experience.  Looks like I found it here.

It does feel a bit like an infomercial, but some of the things I have soaked in EvapoRust cleaned up amazingly well.  One tool had about a sixteenth of an inch thick crust in places.  After an all night soak, it came off.  Left a blackened finish on the steel, but that looks way better than the rust.

Prolly will but if memory serves you gotta pay extra for the little prayer towel or some such.  Heard Rev. Ike a few times in the late 60's when I was imprisoned in the Navy in San Diego.  A REAL piece of work.  Now if you really wanna get into pieces of work in the 60's in Socal, just think back to the Cal Worthington used car commercials.  Kinda takes ya back doesn't it?  How I long for the simple days and a misspent youth. Wink.............gary

Cal was good but not in the same league as Ike.

Famous Ike quotes:  "My god is green" or as the collection basket is being passed "remember God hates the sound of loose change".

I alwas liked Ikes purple throne with the embroidered gold crown.  When Ike sat down it appeared as if he was wearing a gold crown.

The good old days when the shakedown artists were at least entertaining.  You can't say that about our current crop (Jackson and Sharpton although Al does have his moments).  Rev Wright is entertaining in a disturbing sort of way.

If you are unfamiliar with Rev. Ike do a web search on him.  What ever you think of him you will have to admit he had a pair.
