Rolling Block extractor

I have a rolling block I purchased many years ago as a Kit from Cape Outfitters. My guess that the extractor is pretty typical of the rolling blocks imported at that time in that it will fall back far enough that a round can be chambered past the extractor and just bind the whole works up. My question for those more knowledgeable than me, is, should the extractor be welded up so that when the breach block is fully open, the extractor only rocks back far enough to dislodge the case from the chamber with little to no movement on the extractor when the action is fully open?
Thanks in advance

You are right Dave in that it is a Pedrosoli, but it has a steel pistol grip trigger guard. Since it was purchased as a kit everything was soft and it has been properly case hardened and has some very nice colors. I have shot is some since hardening it and don't see any signs of peening,  I just don't like having to fight with the extractor to try to get a loaded round back into the chamber.
Would welding up the lug on the extractor where it buts up against the inside of the frame and then dressing it down accomplish the same as the screw and slot?

I have an older Pedersoli RB with the brass trigger guard.  The extractor does roll back too far if I open the breach fast.  I may try the screw option.

SSDave, it's also older.  If I have that problem you described, can I get replacement hammer and breach block from Pedersoli and are they "drop in" parts?

Thanks, Andy

Well I didn't quite get the help on here I was looking for and I dont like the idea of drilling and taping a hole in a hardened action, and then trying to fit up a slot in the extractor to have it stop in all the right places.
A little more research and I remembered something from one of the books I had read on single shot actions and if I remember correctly it mentioned dovetailing a block into the extractor and then adjusting it to limit how far the extractor moves rearward. Not caring for that solution I took the extractor to a weld shop to see if they could build it up some and yes they were able to. The welder did a pretty nice job, just added material to the area where the extractor hits the inside of the frame, the welder used a Tig torch and a small sharp tip. Then it was a matter of filing/grinding it down till it fit to my satisfaction. As you can see in the pics that follow, I had to add almost 1/8" to get the stop point adjusted. The welder actually put a lot more on than that but I removed it. I also had to take a little off of the bottom where it cams against the breach block so the block would open far enough.

This pic shows where material was added and removed.

This will give a better view of how much material was added. It shows an unfitted blank extractor on top of the welded and fited extractor.

Hopefully this will help others out or at least give them an alternative to drilling holes in a hardened action.
I have not shot this rifle since I did the mods to the extractor, but in playing around with some empty cases it seems that the case can be either extracted or ejected depending oh how hard you work the breach block.
I also apologize for the multi pal posts but I just couldn't seem to get more than one pic to load up at one time
