Its hard to say. For sure the metal work was done by Braendlin, but I don;t know if the wood was done by them, Bradell or a third party like Thomas Turner.

Here's another Martini that is in the "project" stage. It's chambered in .303 and ready for some file work and a blue job. The stock was just completed and it will be the next one off to have the metal work done. The trigger at one point had a safety but all that remains is the shell so this will be ground off and the trigger re-shaped. The rear sight will also come off and a 3 leaf express sight will take it's place. My 450 Rigby Match Martini will be ready in a few weeks, it is currently at the stock makers who is waiting for the lever latch mechanism to be repaired. The little spring nipple that holds the lever tight was just a bit short and needed to be lengthened. Take care and god bless.....cordell

Hi Cordell. The Greener is 45-70.  I got the bare action over 30 year from olde John Grant, rest his soul.  The action had never had a barrel in it. It is beautifully engraved with georgeous case colors. After John passed away I figured it should finally be made into a rifle. First round was a Gemmer plains style. Nice. but just not right. Went back and made more the English style and it's great. The barrel is a Badger 18 twist. It is a shooter. I think I have some pix of the bare action. I'll see if I can tag them onn here. The picture of the rifle is lousy. Guess I'd better take some better. Anyhow, thanks.

Trapdoor:

There's a finished rifle with engraving similar (but not as nicely done as yours) on Steve Cobb's web site.  Take a look at it at:  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I've considered it several times but my tastes run to small frame Martinis and I don't like the sights the builder or first owner chose, useful as they might be for target shooting.

Hi Cordell, I like your Martini Mannlicher. Is that a standard 303 Brit. case just necked down to 7mm as you say its chambered for a 303 but the photo says 7mm.
This photo shows my BSA Martini (cannot remember which model it is but its a thick wall) in 7mm Waters. Its not a very good photo as it doesn't show very well the octagon barrel or the fancy work the gun smith did on the rear sight or the grooves cut for fitting a scope.
Now that I have had one of my cataracts done I can see to shoot with open sights and l like carrying the rifle like this as it only weighs five and a half pounds according to my bathroom scales.
It likes Sierra 140 and 150 grain boat tails and with a 3-9 Zeiss on for anything over a hundred yards it will shoot into moa and I do not notice the recoil.

Tried to add another photo to my last post but gave up as too difficult. As well as doing a little cosmetic surgery to the frame it doesn't come amiss to slim down the trigger guard.

Nero, the photo says 7mm but that is because I am senile! ...I was coresponding with someone regarding my 7mm Mannlicher and typed that in by mistake on this post Roll Eyes..............It is standard 303 Brit ....................
