I accidently terminated this reply-- so here is the rest of it. One option is to  keep shooting it until it starts to open up then worry about fixing it. It might never open up on you. If I were you , I would try to get it fixed. The fact that no one has been hurt so far doesnt mean that someone cant get hurt.  I did LOTS of shooting with mine. Hope you get it worked out.
