Gents,

I thought I had seen a thread discussing color-case hardening but have been unable to find it using the search function here. So begging forgiveness if there is in fact a thread, would like to know who folks recommend for color-case hardening. I called one advertiser in BPCN and the guy answering the phone was most unfriendly, anyone have a recommendation?

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

Al Springer was recommended to me on this board. I sent my low wall to him, it's outstanding! Jake

Signal Mountain Gun Works
PO Box 570, 260 Big Clearing Road, Roundup, MT 59072
Phone: (406) 323-2431
The company does color-casehardening work for Browning and Winchester using a potassium-cyanide-based technology.  Owner is John Witt.
===================

I have used Signal Mountain to color case grip caps and buttplates.  The price was very reasonable and the turnaround was fast.  The more recent case colors on the Winchester Limited Series BPCRs were done by Signal Mountain and they are very nice.

    I'll put in a "second" for Adobe Walls Forge. They have done work for me and I've seen plenty of other actions colored by them. First rate outfit and great colors.
