Ammo for RRB Carbine

Is there any place to obtain (black powder) ammo for a .50 cal. Remington rolling block carbine? (.50-45?) I'm not really interested in loading my own, so I would like to find where to buy commercially made.  Thanks.

There is none, as far as i know, but ii's not hard to make-the hardest part of the whole thing is`cutting 5-70 cases to 1.34". I used a Lathe, as i coun't find a case trimmer big enough for it.However, with the advint of 50BMG cases, that trouble will be over.Over you could have Rocky Mountain Cartridge Co. make some cases for you.They are good people.You can even use regular 50-70 dies,  i did.Those rifles are FUN to shoot.

Rocky Mountain is the way I would go.

I got mine from the earlier incarnation, of sorts, Gain Twist.

It is marked 50 carbine. I bought a rapine 315 gr bullet mold and some dies for 4-D via Huntington's in WV.

I found this an easy bullet to load. 

I really doubt you will find any commercially. Maybe from one of the guys who will load up stuff and sell it for you, but it would cost a bunch I would think.

You might contact Gad Custom Loading and ask if they can make them up. Their prices are not bad for custom ammo.

Please correct me if I'm wrong--the RRB carbine uses .50-45, not .50-70, right?  I had an an e-mail back from Gad that said, "IS IT 50-70 DETERMINE CALIBRE".

In George Layman's book, The Military Remington Rolling Block Rifle, he says on page 88, Quote:
Some of the early No. 1 Remingtons were chambered for the .50 U.S. carbine cartridge, more commonly known as the .50-45.  To make cases for this round, one takes the .50-70 Government case and trims it down to 1.37 inches.  Both it and the .50-70 utilize bullets of .512 to .515 inch diameter and are quite similar aside from case length and powder charges.
