Well, it's been almost a year now and still looking for a Lyman 104 front Patridge sight for the front of my Stevens 418 Walnut Hill Jr.

Have bought some that looked the part even though they weren't marked, but they were all off one way or another.

So, thought I'd try to make one in the interim to keep myself out of trouble for a few hours.

I have a few sketchy pics from some repro literature, but nothing definitive.
Does anyone have a 418 with the ORIGINAL 104 Patridge front sight that they would be willing to take a pic of, and perhaps a few measurements with a caliper / micrometer?  IE, how tall is the ramp blade at the forward end and at rear end of the blade, how wide is the blade, and how wide was the base? Did the blade have an insert (I think not, but am not sure)

Ouch!  Bummer! All the 418s that everyone here must have, and not a single factory original front sight? Anywhere?

Guess  I'll just go from OCD state of mind on this to just plain looking around and maybe I'll find one in my lifetime

On the otherhand, it did take me about 30 years and the internet before I was even able to find out what the gun was in the first place!

Still, if anyone finds one out there let me know about the sight (assuming you get to buy the gun of course!)
