Parker-Hale Targetspot scope

Today I took delivery of a long awaited addition to my collection.  It is a Parker-Hale telescopic sight.  A friend unearthed it at the Reno NV show last fall, and I urged him to buy it on my behalf.  I have mounted it on a BSA Canadian Training rifle.

The adjustments are quite unique.

Please enjoy the pictures.

Ledball:  The Parker-Hale scopes are quite uncommon.  The "Targetspot"  designation is my typo...it should be "Targetscope."

Would you happen to know the dates when the P-H scopes were produced, and whether or not they were make by an outside firm, but labeled and sold by P-H ?

My connection is a bit slow this A.M. , so I'm yet to see the images !  I'll try again later.

What is unique about the P-H adjustment arrangement ?

With the adjustment band that is knurled it sure resembles a Fecker.

I was told by an English friend long ago they were Feckers the the following confirms what he told me.

From (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

To close, in order not to offend or mislead any North American readers, we should mention that we are aware that these scopes were manufactured by Fecker of Cleveland and imported by Parker-Hale for sale in Great Britain under their own name. A considerable recommendation we would have thought.

Laurie;  Thanks for posting the link to the Parker-Hale ad.

Here are some more pictures.

The first shows the adjustment mechanism.

I did receive the pictures today, and yes, the scope is unique as you say.

Do you have any idea as to when the P-H firm had these style scopes available to their customers ?

Creedmorematch;

The link provided by fallingblock suggestes the time period to be 1938-39.

Guys

I have an  original catalogue  advertising this scope from 1933 with testimonials of the Targetscope sight in 9x from late 1932. This does not appear in the 1947 catalogue.  The text states that the Fecker was the basis of the design but with improvements. Trust this is of some interest.

I sure do like those mounts. Pretty neat!.

My fecker has a colloar like the shown P-H. Not like the shown Fecker. I am guessing that that is just a change in design that fecker made over the years?

Thanks for showing us the scope and more over, those mounts!

In my 50 years of collecting single shots and target scopes, this set of early Parker-Hale rings are the closest I've gotten to one their scopes.
