Low Wall finally finished

Thanks to all the advice/support of the kind folks on this board, my low wall is finally finished, sighted in, firing every time with very little if any case distortion. I reworked the face of the barrel one last time, being very careful of the rim cut this time and it worked out fine.  Again, thanks for all the help, now I'm starting on another one! Jake

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Thanks! I'm glad the old girl is back up and running, as it came to me literally in a dry wall bucket. I now realize the first step in restoring one this bad is a good mating between the barrel face and breech block, somethiing I should have paid more attention to out of the chute. But...it was the first one of these I've fooled with, quite a bit different from double barrels. I'm now chomping at the bit for another one to restore & sell. I have quite a bit of 20 year old walnut of this caliber. Squirrel comes in tomorrow, can't wait to ambush a few for the pot. Jake

Two squirrels to the old girls credit this morning. Both head shots, one at 45 yrds, the other at 91 yrds! I'm very happy with those results! Good rest however on both shots. Jake

I love it except for the checkering.  I don't like checkering on any rifle~!!
