Please excuse my ignorance here, I am new to these sights.  I have a Pedro RB and I purchased a Shaver Long Range sight for it.  Out of the box the sight is in a position forward of perpendicular when locked in the retaining notch.  I notice that in all the pretty staged photos the sight staff is always perpendicular to the barrel yet when I see more candid shots I see some variation from perpendicular.

First off, how important accuracy wise is it to have the staff perpendicular?  What sort of variation will a non-perpendicular staff induce, if any?  Would such variation be constant with increasing range or vary?

If it is important to have the staff perpendicular, other than shimming the base, how can the sight be adjusted?  It seems to me that the retaining indentation could be reshaped or the retaining spring could be shortened and rehaped to accomplishbthe correction, any other ideas?

Thanks,  When I spoke to Lee he was aware of which gun it was for.  It is the delux sight so it should be adjustable as you stated. I'll give it a try.
