Just a quick reminder.  The Chinquapin Schuetzenverein will hold its June Match at the Brushy Mountain Club near Alta Vista, VA on the last Friday and Saturday of June (26th & 27th.)  We will have all the regular ASSRA type events that we had last year and the King Matches (.22 RF Friday & CF Saturday.) Drop me a PM for additional info if you aren't already one of the Chinquapin insiders on the mailing list.  Remember, you must be present to attend.

We have apparently been able to settle in with the long-standing Chinquapin tradition of holding our match on the last Friday and Sturday of June and September each year... that's Friday and Saturday of those weekends only.  We try to present a full program at 200 yards for CF and 100 yds for RF including the Dell-Hudson and the increasingly popular "mini-Hudson.  We also have CF and RF King Matches in June.  If you find yourself in Central VA on either of those dates, drop by and shoot with us!

CP- sorry you won't be able to make the June match, but we'll look for you in September.  We have good level parking places for self-contained and some limited (water bib and electric only) hookups within about 25-50 yds of the range.  As you will recall, our clubhouse has hot showers, and we provide hot dog lunches both days as part of the match fee.

ANOTHER great match.  It was very good to see the usual suspects.

Matches are great learning experiences, this one no exception.  I shot the .458WM (as I usually do) but loaded down quite a bit - much more comfortable, need to add a little to it to get out to 200 within sight adjusmernt range though.

Took a Martini in 30-30 too.  Learned that light loads of RL7 shot well but the unburned powder tended to collect in the chamber when shooting from the bench.  OK - I didn't do enough research beforehand.

You'll have to ask leadball, as he was carrying it when it was last seen, but a small hint is that it appears it will eventually end up in Tennessee!  ACORN is being recruited for a recount, but it seems that a rather well known figure from TN, who incidentally also had to leave somewhat early, was the winner of the coveted trophy target. I should get a photo of it from Martin this afternoon to post along with the results I'll be working on as I take Mom to the Doctor this morning.  Stay tuned!!
