a few single shots

I have had a interest in rifles for a long time. Over the last 10 years, old rifles.  The last 5 years, old single shots!  This is where I have been stuck! I purchased a few Stevens rifles, then found a Ballard Pacific with a great bore, but replaced wood and scope blocks. I did not know much about the Ballards. but after a few emails to a guy on these sites who knows Ballards Roll Eyes, I made the purchase and have never looked back. Since I am always looking for advice, parts, tips and tricks for this old rifles, I figured it was time to introduce myself.
Here are my Stevens rifles (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Ballards-from top #2 32Long,#2 38 Long, #2 44-40,#3,#4 38-50, #5 38-55, #9 38-55

Latest rifles- 40-65's repro Rolling Block and No. 5 Ballard

Last one...I bought this many years ago and was saving it for my first born. Well she was born just over 3 months ago, so I guess this will be hers! Remington #4  .22

Thank you for letting me use this space to share and I will try to chime in a little more often instead of just reading. Smiley

Great collection 38-55 kidd!  At least now i know why there is a shortage of good ballard and stevens rifles at the shows.  Heck that even answers why the tang sight prices are getting so high...

That is what I would call a good start. Nice collection. I have been adding period tang sights to as many of my rifles as I can. Also adding period scopes when I can find them. The older I get, the more help my old eyes need.  Keep up the good work.

Ol_Duece,

Most of my rifles seem to sit in the safe, but not the single shots. I have shot almost everyone one.  I am having a lot of fun learning how to shoot them, finding brass, molds ect. I just purchased molds for the .32 Long and .38 Long and will be getting them out soon, I hope. There is a lot to learn about the obsolete cartridges. All of the  .32 calibers have been explained several times to me and I finally think I got it. I need to get the 38-50 Everlasting cartridge made up also.

Nice collection Kidd.

When I saw that Pacific I wondered how you got my rifle!
What caliber is it?  Oh, 38/55, just read it. Duh.

My #5 has a Winchester WG on the front and a Ballard tang on the rear. It's .45 GOV
