I don't know yet the feeling about replica arm but maybe some one will know the answer.
I acquired a Sharps carbine 1863 imported by Garrett Arms it is unfired and seem to be well made it has a working Sharps primer pellet feed system.
Any input regarding this arm would be welcomed.

I have a 1874 Garrett Carbine and it is truely a qualitiy rifle. Purchased mine for $550.00 off a 'walk around' at a gun show.
ALSO, there is one listed on AUCTION ARMS that should bear consideration by anyone wanting a Sharps Carbine.

Fancy red stuff works fine.  looking for an idea for breechseating my MKll international in centerfire with out adding a lot of holes  any ideads

I bought a copy of the 1867 Conversion Carbine that Garrett offered in .45-70 (as well as .50-70) in the big remainder sale when Garrett went out of business in the early '80's.  According to the literature, the frame was a forging, like the originals.  Mine has the decommissioned Lawrence primer-flipper, the percussion hammer and half-cock position and a military cartouche stamped in the stock that looks authentic but I understand it was Garrett's initials instead of one of the old military inspectors.

Casehardening and bluing are nicely done, as is the wood finish.  They were made in Italy and Garrett was the importer.  They were nicely authentic and overall quality was good, but not quite up to the current Pedersoli's that I have seen.  The barrel on mine has quite deep rifling.  Groove diameter is 0.457", but the bore is only 0.442".

oldreliable, your absolutely right. The wood to metal fit on the auction arms Garrett Arms Sharps sucks. I did not look at it that close before.   
The wood to metal fit on mine is 100% better than the Arms A listed one. It is just as good as any of the pedersoli in the safes.

The Garrett is sought after by those in N-SSA as they are fine shooters. I believe the guys use a 52 cal bullet of around 300 gr. and around 52grs of 3f powder. You can seat the bullet with a dowel rod, just lightly start the bullet into the rifling then deposit the powder into the chamber close the breach and put a musket cap on aim and fire.
One can also use womens perm papers and stick glue them into a tube and onto the bullet base. Fill the paper tube with the powder and fold the paper over and glue. (this is a lot easier than it sounds). You do not need to nitrate the papers like they used to do years ago. The perm papers burn compleatly up, and the musket cap instantantiously penetrates the paper for quick ignition. I use them in my original sharps carbine also.
