Hello reindeer, yes we all pay to much for our toys, but in this case I have a gun that I can pass to my son someday and by then it will probably be worth quite a lot more  Cool

The ramrod is not original, as far as I know...

The original Borchardt Ram/Cleaning rod is quite distinctive in shape and is a very scarce item indeed. Some months ago 'Westerner' (Joe) put up a picture on this Forum of an original ramrod head. (He also promised to send me the measurements so I could make up a few copies,  Roll Eyes maybe he'll get around to it sometime before I die.  Wink). Which may not be that far into the future if your reading this Joe. lol.

Most military Borchardts I have seen photographs of, have replacement rods taken from .58" Springfield or .577" Enfield muzle loading rifles and adapted to fit.

That is a question I would also like to know! I forgot to ask that question from the seller when buying because I was too excited at the moment  Smiley

I was also quite lucky to be able to buy it, because obviously nobody other realized the true value of the gun overhere.

Yesterday I received a #2 Remington rolling block to a very good price, once again, it seems that the market for these guns is quite small here.
