Can anyone recommend a source for replacement trapdoor mainsprings? I would like to lighten the trigger pull on my rifle as per another thread on this forum, so I would prefer a newly made spring rather than an original. Thanks, JOe S

Joe. If you want to improve the trigger on a Springfield trapdoor, I suggest you stay with the orginal main spring and buy one of Robert Smith's  lock tumblers ( Robert Smith 619 Wood St. Powell WY 82435
$50 delivered ) This will give you quicker lock time and some trigger adjustment.

I would love to use one of those new tumblers, but they are only appropriate for a two noch sear and tumbler, and my rifle has a three notch sear and tumbler, which I like a lot. If they made one with three notches that is the route I would take. Thanks, Joe
