I am looking for a Martini gunsmith from Oregon.  His name is Jim Wadsworth - I may not be spelling his name correctly.

My understanding is he has a extractor/ejector solution for rimless cartridges for the small frame Martini.

I have a Martini 12/15 with the Bob Snapp extractor that is okay if one watches sizing the cases after about 8 or 9 firings.

When I push it to 10 to 12 neck size firings then the cartridges start to stick in the chamber.

I am not sure one needs to push reloading a cartridge that many times with only neck sizing but it might be nice to look at another solution.

Jim's solution is both an extractor and ejection design.

If I vigrously operate the cocking handel the Snapp solution will clear the empty from the action, given the cartridge has been recently sized.

Thanks,

John

I think your problem isn't so much the design or maker of the extractor, but a combination of the design of the Martini system plus "10 or 12 neck sizings".  There's not a lot of leverage available (or room to get more) in the Martini design with the breechblock having to swing down to strike the tail of the extractor to get it to function.  You didn't say what caliber you're shooting, but I would guess that it's based on the .222/.223 rim if you're presently using a Snapp extractor.  If you increased the rim contact area 50%, you would still have the same problem with sticky extraction on multiple firings without full length sizing.

Jime Wassmundt has retired and specifically requested his name ber removed from the Martini Internet resource list.

Here is Wassmundts drawing of his extractor modification.

I agree 100% with Dave.  If you are get sticky extraction in a Martini you need to full length size the brass.

Bob Snapp's extractor is about as good as it gets in rimless extracting in a Martini.
